My code sucks, that's all. I forgot to make it check for illegal usernames when creating accounts, though illegal usernames still weren't allowed in URLs, so trying to access any page with a link to their profile or accessing their profile directly would cause a server error, hence why the home page was broken on R2 for a little while. The bug got fixed by @chipmunkmc, so you shouldn't see any more users with such usernames.

I'd like to also note that I never found a user with an empty string as a username, just one with a space (' ' aka \x20). I renamed it to 'space' as it felt fitting at the time (I had to rename some users to fix the home page breakage).
